Mike Dyson led the Centennial Titans to consecutive playoffs and helped them advance to the Regional Quarterfinals in 2009, the Regional Finals in 2011, and the Regional Semifinals in 2013. He was the first Centennial softball coach to make a playoff appearance since the opening of Centennial High School in 2003.
Coach Dyson coached at Nimitz High School in Irving for 13 years prior to his arrival at Centennial High School. During his tenure at Nimitz, he built one of the most successful programs in North Texas and led Nimitz to playoffs 11 out of 13 years. Coach Dyson also led Nimitz to State in Austin in 1994 and 1998.
Since arriving at Coppell High School the Cowgirls made the playoffs 3 out of 4 years. In 2016 and 2017, the Coppell Cowgirls earned the title of district and bi-district champions ending the 2017 season as Area Champions and Regional Quarter Finalists. In 2018, the Cowgirls took 4th place in district and competed in the state playoffs against the #1 team who finished in second place in the 6A state finals. Coach Dyson in his 5th year at Coppell is looking forward to another successful year!
